Helga Rhodes said, “Conflict is a fact of life. It does not have to be a way of life.”
Whether coaching executives in the C-suite, business owners, or providing life coaching services, chances are that your client is dealing with conflict. Conflict coaching supports them working through the conflict and moving forward.
Conflict coaching can be offered to an individual client dealing with conflict with someone else, to two or more individuals involved in conflict, and to teams in conflict.
In this lively session with breakout discussions, we will explore: • Reasons behind conflict. • What happens and the results. • How to handle conflict. • Worth knowing. • Skills for managing conflict. • ‘How to’ of conflict coaching. • What if… dealing with strong emotions or impasse. • The reasons conflict coaching works.
Conflict coaching will draw on all of your coaching competencies: 1. Demonstrate Ethical Practice: Stay true to the coach role and protect confidentiality. 2. Embody a Coaching Mindset: Be open, flexible, and aware of influences. 3. Establish and Maintain Agreements: Partner to establish a clear agreement and what is to be addressed. 4. Cultivate Trust and Safety: It is essential that the client(s) feel safe to talk. 5. Maintain Presence: Remain focused, observant, empathetic, and responsive to the client. 6. Listen Actively: Consider context and identity, summarize what is said, notice cues, and integrate client’s words. 7. Evoke Awareness: Invite sharing and ask questions; notice what is working to enhance client progress. 8. Facilitate Client Growth: Invite the client(s) to consider how to move forward and partner with the client(s) to design actions and accountability.
